Overnight camp for girls Aug 17-20, for ages 10-12, at Pend D’Oreille River Ranch & Regenerative Farm. We are finally offering an overnight for girls, after running girls’ after school programs for a few years. Give your daughter a special experience of screen-free deep connection, to the natural world, to friends and inspiring female mentors and to her Self – her gifts, confidence, courage, creativity, and joy. We like to support self-identifying girls in the precious time before the teenage years and give them an opportunity to both be wild and authentic in a safe and encouraging environment.

Activities:

Campers learn wilderness skills, for example:
– identifying wild edible plants & cooking on fire (if no fire ban),
– ancestral crafting & arts (archery, baskets, clay, natural pigments etc),
– animal tracking & camouflage (recognizing animal calls, prints and learning to hide well).
Campers will also be immersed in community skills such as:
– gratitude & respect for all things,
– relational emotional regulation & teamwork,
– self compassion & inner peace,

– problem solving & conflict resolution.

Mindful awareness, music, and storytelling are woven into the day, together with farm visits, adventures, games, waterplay, and making space for authentic conversations and connection. Our excellent team role model positive courageous ways to be a woman and sister, belonging to ourselves, place and community.

Location:

Pend d’Oreille River Ranch and Regenerative Farm is a beautiful off-grid no wifi farm with many farm animals, a private small lake and 300 acres of land, rich with wildlife. The ranch is located outside Salmo, 1 hour from Nelson, 50 minutes from Castlegar. The children will sleep in tents and maybe even build their own overnight shelter for one night!
For boys, Tanin at Kootenay Rites of Passage is offering two camps this summer. at the same place.

Meals:

All meals are included, prepared in the outdoor kitchen and including local ‘farm to table’ food. Dietary specifications like gluten free, dairy free, allergen sensitive or vegan can be accommodated, within reason.

WHEN: Monday August 17th 2026 2-3 pm arrival till Thursday August 20th. Parents are invited at 3 pm, departure at 4 pm.

PRICE: $550 with e-transfer, $575 with credit card includes meals.
A limited amount of partial scholarships are available to families in need. Apply here.
