Description
For Home-learners, Wildflower kids, and kids who like to take a day off any school to come and play four hours in the forest.
Get your kid to run free yet safe and connect to nature. We will build community within, with each other and with nature. Learn naturalist skills, bush crafts (like fire making, navigation, tracking), nourish creativity and social skills as self-regulation and conflict negotiation and mindfulness. Each day we have choices for kids who likes to explore small nature wonders or crafts, and for those who likes to run around, jump and climb. Bring snacks and weather appropriate clothing.
If your child has an educational assistant at school or is on the spectrum, contact us to see if this program is a fit.
The program is based on Nature Awareness Mentoring (also called Coyote Mentoring or the 8 Shields model) that is used in many outdoor schools. More than education and recreation, it is a way to foster nature connection and community connection.
